Rode PodMic Overview

Podcasters looking for the right mic to bring professional-quality sound to their productions on YouTube, FaceBook, Twitch, and elsewhere have a great option with the PodMic from Rode. This cost-effective, stylish, end-address dynamic XLR microphone is specifically tuned for speech and broadcast. Tailor-made for use with the RodeCaster Pro podcast production studio and PSA1 broadcast arm, it can also be plugged into a wide Range of pro audio gear to deliver broadcast-quality sound.

Podcast in Any Environment

Most podcasts happen in bedrooms, home studios, or offices with less than perfect acoustics and noises coming from the outside. The PodMic features a dynamic capsule with a tight cardioid polar pattern, great for picking up the speaker while reducing unwanted sounds that are further away or off to the sides.

Get Close to Your Mic

with its end-address design, the PodMic invites you to get right up close and create intimate, broadcast-style voice recordings with a deep and warm tone. Its compact size lets you and your guests see each other and enjoy an open and comfortable talking experience, while the mic stays out of the camera's way when videocasting.

Built to Last

Solid-brass construction with a hard-wearing matte-black ceramic finish ensures that the PodMic will continue to deliver the same level of performance over the years, while still looking great.

Clean Speech without Distractions

The PodMic's internal pop filter and double-mesh housing work to effectively reduce distracting breath and plosive noises (as in "s", "p", and "b" sounds) without the need for an unsightly external pop filter.

Protect Your Sound from Vibrations

The internal shockmount helps to isolate the PodMic from handling noise and vibrations when you are adjusting the mic or if there's a bump or knock on the table. The integrated swing mount that holds the mic further insulates it from low-frequency noises, which could ruin your audio.

Swing into the Right Position

The PodMic has two wing nuts on each side of its built-in mount, allowing you to quickly swing the mic into the right orientation and lock it into place. Mounting the PodMic on the PSA1 broadcast boom arm (available separately) gives you the added flexibility to position the microphone exactly where you want it.

Get Professional Results

Pair the PodMic with the powerful RodeCaster Pro podcast production studio to leverage the most out of your microphone. Select the PodMic microphone preset in the RodeCaster Pro audio options and matching digital signal processing is automatically applied, giving your voice the depth, presence, and hint of shimmer associated with top professional radio broadcasters.

The auto-sensing 3.5mm TRRS output and included TRRS cable ensure compatibility with cameras, portable recorders, mobile devices, and computers”no adapters required. A peak warning light, a -20 dB pad, and the Selectable -20 dB safety channel help you easily avoid distortion in your recordings. When used as a USB microphone, the 3.5mm jack functions as a stereo headphone output for real-time monitoring of your signal.

Thanks To firmware version 2.0, the VideoMic NTG is now MFi-certified for use with Lightning-equipped Apple iOS mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, and iPod) when paired with the Rode SC15 USB Type-C To Lightning accessory cable (available separately).

    Technology Ported from the NTG5

The VideoMic NTG body features acoustic perforations rather than the linear slots traditionally used in shotgun microphones. This annular line tube technology was ported from Rode NTG5 To deliver transparency and a natural, uncolored sound.

    Directional Sound Pickup

The VideoMic NTG utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern To focus on sound in front of it while attenuating sound from the sides and rear. Its low-noise electronics and sensitive condenser element deliver more detailed audio than the mics typically found in cameras and portable recorders. Since it is even more sensitive than the VideoMic Pro+ model, it requires less gain To achieve an equivalent signal level.

    Extensive Device Compatibility

Simply connect the VideoMic NTG To your camera, portable recorder, or mobile device via the included TRRS cable. The VideoMic NTG auto-sensing 3.5mm TRRS output automatically switches between TRS and TRRS as necessary, so you won't need additional adapter cables. The 3.5mm jack is wired in a dual-mono configuration, ensuring that the mic signal is sent identically To both input channels of your recording device.

    Full USB Microphone Functionality

Plug the VideoMic NTG into your computer, smartphone, or tablet via USB To use it as a digital USB microphone for direct recording To your favorite software. Its integrated analog-to-digital converter operates at 24-bit / 48 kHz To provide full-resolution, uncompressed audio quality.

MFi-Certified for Apple iOS Mobile Devices

As of firmware version 2.0, the VideoMic NTG is officially MFi-certified, unlocking complete compatibility with Lightning-equipped iOS devices, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Plug your VideoMic NTG into your iPhone, iPad, or iPod via USB with the Rode SC15 USB Type-C To Lightning accessory cable (available separately), unleashing the full potential of the mic, including:

    • Headphone monitoring with complete volume control using the variable output knob
    • Two-way audio transmission for making video calls
    • Access To the safety channel, which creates a second output at -20 dB in case the main channel distorts
    • High-quality 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio conversion

    Convenient Headphone Monitoring

When using the VideoMic NTG as a USB microphone, plug your headphones into its 3.5mm output for convenient stereo headphone monitoring. Control the headphone volume via the gain knob on the bottom of the mic.

-20 dB Pad and Continuously Variable Gain

To enable effortless optimization of recording levels for any device, the VideoMic NTG boasts a continuously variable gain control and a helpful audio peak warning light. Whether you need mic level, line level, headphone level, or something in between, the right level is available at the turn of a knob. Press the dedicated button for the -20 dB pad To quickly lower the level when loud sound sources threaten To distort your recording.

    Bass Roll-Off and Treble Boost

The high-pass filter can be set To 75 Hz or 150 Hz To roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. Knowing that intelligibility is crucial, Rode outfitted the VideoMic NTG with a Selectable high-frequency boost, which enhances detail and clarity in the treble Range.

    Selectable Safety Channel

When source levels get unexpectedly louder, you risk overloading the recording. By pressing the dedicated safety channel button, you can set the mic right channel To output 20 dB lower than the left channel. This lets you record a safety channel and the main signal To your camera at the same time.

    Internal Rechargeable 30-Hour Battery

The internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers up To 30 hours of run time and recharges via USB Type-C in about two hours. Since the VideoMic NTG can be charged while you use it, you can even simultaneously power and charge it with a USB battery pack.

    Manual or Automatic Power On/Off

When connected To the mic input of a compatible camera, the VideoMic NTG automatically turns on or off in response To the presence or absence of plug-in power. As you'd expect, the mic shuts off when it detects a loss in power, either from powering off or disconnecting the camera. Plus, there is a power button for manually turning the mic on or off.

Shockmount with Sliding Rail and Cable Management

Understanding that the rubber bands used in many shockmounts can snap and stretch, Rode chose To opt for a rugged Rycote Lyre suspension-style shockmount designed for attachment To a camera or boompole. This simplifies setup of the mic and inhibits the transfer of vibrations from the camera. The shockmount sliding rail system lets shift the position of the mic forward or backward for perfect placement. forget about messy cabling the built-in cable management keeps the cord run tidy.

    Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise

The VideoMic NTG includes a foam windscreen To minimize unwanted wind noise from light breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. for maximum reduction of wind noise in outdoor environments, consider a furry windshield such as the optional Rode WS-11.

True Wireless Microphone Ready for Run-and-Gun

Equipped with a high-caliber, pre-polarized, omnidirectional lavalier built into the transmitter's compact housing, the Wireless GO delivers quality audio without demanding an external microphone.

The internal capsule's omnidirectional polar pattern ensures reliable audio pickup even if mic placement is less than ideal, and the 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range naturally attenuates sub-bass tones such as rumble and boominess; your subject's voice will be captured with clarity, intelligibility, and consistency.

          Grab a Mic and Go

Already have a top-of-the-line external lav? The transmitter packs in a 3.5mm TRS input with plug-in power, so you can connect most lavalier microphones equipped with a non-locking 3.5mm TRS mini plug (such as Rode's own Lavalier GO), and still enjoy the convenience of the Wireless GO.

The 3.5mm TRS external mic input passes wideband audio from 20 Hz to 20 kHz along to the internal mic preamp, which provides robust dynamic range and requires no manipulation of settings or parameters.

          Sonically Solid and Secure

Like Rode's popular RODELink wireless systems, the Wireless GO system utilizes the 2.4 GHz frequency band to get you away from the congested and confusing domain of UHF. Forget about scanning for channels and dialing in squelch to get a strong signal; the Wireless GO just works!

Courtesy of Rode's optimized transmission algorithm, the Wireless GO empowers you with a range of up to 230 feet, and bolsters signal dependability to mitigate drop-outs in crowded short-range environments such as retail stores, malls, office buildings, and hotels.

Rode Series III 2.4 GHz digital transmission incorporates 128-bit encryption for security, stability, and hassle-free operation while bypassing the frustration of dealing with licenses and frequency mandates. Go anywhere in the world with the Wireless GO; it automatically gives you a strong signal no matter the scenario.

Note: For optimal performance from this 2.4 GHz system, users are encouraged to maintain as direct a line of sight as possible between the transmitter and receiver.

          Additional Features

The receiver's 3.5mm TRS output sends a mic-level signal, making it compatible with an array of devices such as DSLRs and portable audio recorders.

Low, medium, and high (0 dB, -6 dB, and -12 dB) receiver gain settings allow simple and effective optimization of signal levels.

View transmitter and receiver battery levels on the receiver's bright, high-contrast display.

Operate up to eight systems simultaneously for more complex setups.

This compact and lightweight shotgun microphone features an integrated shockmount that mounts directly to your camera or boompole and reduces noise from various vibrations. The reworked windscreen design minimizes wind noise, making it well suited for outdoor shoots. The 3.5mm TRS output and detachable cable ensure proper hookup to your camera, and the Selectable safety channel prevents accidental distortion by providing a duplicate audio signal at a lower level.

Shotgun Mic with Directional Sound Pickup

Whereas most built-in camera microphones pick up sound from all directions, this microphone utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern to focus on sound in front of it while attenuating sound from the sides and rear. Its low-noise electronics and sensitive condenser element deliver more detailed audio than the mics typically found in cameras and portable recorders.

            Easy Hookup to Camera

A detachable straight 3.5mm cable is included for easy hookup to your camera. The microphone's 3.5mm TRS jack is wired in a dual-mono configuration, ensuring that the mic signal is sent identically to both input channels of your camera or portable recorder.

            Versatile Power Options

Included with the VideoMic Pro+ is the LB-1, a rechargeable and removable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 100 hours of operating time per charge. If you don't have time to recharge the LB-1, just remove it and pop in two AA batteries (available separately) instead. The built-in battery door stays attached to the mic and simplifies battery changes. You can even power the mic via a USB connection to an external battery pack or charger.

            Manual or Automatic Power On/Off

In addition to a power button, this microphone features a defeatable auto on/off function that mitigates unnecessary battery usage. When connected to the mic input of a compatible camera, the VideoMic Pro+ automatically turns on or off in response to the presence or absence of plug-in power. So, the mic shuts off when it detects a loss in power, either from powering off or disconnecting the camera.

            Bass Roll-Off and Treble Boost

The high-pass filter can be set to 75 Hz or 150 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic. Knowing that intelligibility is crucial, Rode outfitted the VideoMic Pro+ with a Selectable high-frequency boost, which enhances detail and clarity in the treble Range.

            3-Stage Gain Control

To enable optimal recording levels, the VideoMic Pro+ boasts a 3-stage gain control. Like the low roll-off and high-frequency boost, the gain control is digitally switched for precision and convenience. The +20 dB setting is ideal when recording to cameras, as it boosts the signal without requiring extreme gain on the camera's inferior preamp. Select the flat setting when routing the mic into a dedicated high-quality preamp, or switch to the -10 dB option when loud sound sources threaten to distort your recording.

            Selectable Safety Channel

When source levels get unexpectedly louder, you risk overloading the recording. By pressing the power and dB buttons simultaneously, you can set the mic's right channel to output 10 dB lower than the left channel. This lets you record a safety channel and the main signal to your camera at the same time.

            Informative LED Indicators

The main status LED uses red, blue, and green colors to indicate the current power source, charging status, and remaining operating time. Additional LEDs are allocated for indication of the safety channel, high-pass filter, high-frequency boost, and gain settings. An onboard light sensor allows it to adjust the LED brightness level in response to ambient light.

            Integrated Shockmount Inhibits Vibrations

Understanding that the rubber bands used in many shockmounts can snap and stretch, Rode chose to integrate a rugged Rycote Lyre suspension-style shockmount. This simplifies setup of the mic and inhibits the transfer of vibrations from the camera. Plus, the bottom of the shockmount features a camera shoe mount with a 3/8" thread, ensuring easy attachment to your camera or a boompole such as Rode's Micro Boompole (available separately).

            Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise

The VideoMic Pro+ has an updated and optimized foam windscreen to minimize unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. for maximum reduction of wind noise in outdoor environments, consider a furry windshield such as the Rode DeadCat VMPR+ (available separately).

            Connectivity Options

Expand the microphone's device compatibility with Rode accessories such as the SC4 and VXLR (both available separately). The SC4 is a short cable that lets you connect the VideoMic Pro+ directly to a smartphone or tablet equipped with a 3.5mm TRRS jack. • USB Audio Interface Functionality
              • Up to 8 Mics on Set / 656' Range

Expanding on the original Wireless GO with updates allowing for two-person shoots, onboard recording, a greatly extended range, and flexible output options, the black Rode Wireless Go II Single system lets videographers, vloggers, and mobile journalists confidently and quickly incorporate wireless audio into their setup regardless of their experience level or what device they're recording to. Ideal for creators who only need to record one subject now, but want the option for two subjects later, the Wireless GO II Single comes with a single transmitter and a dual-channel receiver.

Boasting secure Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission, easy operability, and a built-in mic (lavalier mic available separately), the system is ready to go at the press of a button; you can focus on getting the shot knowing that the Wireless GO II is delivering quality audio at a range of up to 656 feet. There are no menus and no finicky dials, just simple power-on-and-go functionality and a bright, informative LCD screen showing you what you need to see. When you're ready for more, use Rode's companion app to access a powerful feature set and extended customization of settings.

              Version II Upgrades

Whereas the original Wireless GO employed a single channel, version II is a dual-channel system, capable of handling two transmitters at the same time for simple, two-person shoots with low latency (3.5 to 4 ms).

Use the Rode Central companion app (Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android compatible) to unlock powerful features and device customization—onboard transmitter recording, configurable safety track recording in dual mono mode, file playback and export, and more.

Via the app, the transmitter provides an onboard audio recorder offering up to seven hours of uncompressed recording (24-bit / 48 kHz WAV) or 24 hours of compressed recording, perfect for worry-free backup recording or a fast and easy way to capture sound from your subject. Export files in various formats such as MP3 or WAV (16-, 24-, or 32-bit float) with date and time stamp information as well as automatic markers anywhere the transmitter-receiver link was broken.

Since the Wireless GO II can handle two transmitters at once (single transmitter included), it features the ability to switch between stereo or dual-mono output modes. This enables each transmitter, and therefore each subject, to be recorded to a separate channel. Alternatively, signal from two transmitters can be mixed together and recorded identically to left and right channels. Use the app to activate safety track recording (-20 dB on the right channel).

In addition to the traditional 3.5mm TRS analog output, the Wireless GO II receiver has a USB Type-C digital audio output for operation as a 24-bit / 48 kHz audio interface. This can be connected to a computer with the supplied USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable, to the Lightning port of an iOS mobile device via the Rode SC15 cable, or to the USB Type-C port of a laptop, iPad Pro, or Android mobile device with the Rode SC16 cable (SC15 and SC16 cables available separately).

The new Series IV technology extends the line-of-sight operating range of the Wireless GO II to approximately 656' compared to the 230' maximum range of the original Wireless GO. It also offers increased signal strength in crowded wireless environments. Plus, the system is designed to run both transmitters without affecting the range performance.

              Powerful Customization

"Always" Recording Mode: When this mode is activated, the transmitter will start recording audio as soon as it is switched on. It will continue recording until it is switched off, regardless of the status of the receiver. This means that you will have a continuous recording from the moment the transmitter is switched on, making this mode suitable for using the Wireless GO II as a standalone field recorder. Note that in this mode, the "mute" function will not affect the onboard recording (although it will still mute the wireless transmission). This will be the default recording mode when the Wireless GO II is on the latest firmware.

"Backup" Recording Mode: When this mode is activated, the transmitter will start recording audio when it connects to the receiver. When the receiver is switched off, the recording will stop. This means that if the signal drops out at any time or if you forget to hit record on your device, you will still have a backup recording for the period that the wireless connection was active.

Off: Switching off the recording function means the transmitter will not record any audio. Existing recordings will remain on the unit until manually deleted using Rode Central.

Activatable input pads on the transmitters engage low-sensitivity mode to avoid distortion when dealing with loud talkers.

LED brightness adjustment for the transmitters allows optimal visibility in any shooting environment.

Change the functionality of the transmitter power button to either mute the input, drop a marker into the onboard recording, or deactivate the button.

Out of the Box, onto the Set

Designed with stunning simplicity and efficiency in mind, the Rode Wireless GO II Single offers instantaneous functionality out of the box for your next news shoot, video project, or interview. Power up, let the receiver and transmitter automatically pair, then GO!

Mobile journalists, videographers, and vloggers will appreciate the Wireless GO II's pocket- and bag-friendly portability. With the transmitter and receiver each weighing just over an ounce and measuring approximately 1.7 x 1.8 x 0.7 inches, the subject and camera operator will forget they're even there!

Clip the miniature transmitter to clothing, attach it to a belt, or slide it in a pocket; use it as a lavalier mic (no need for a separate mic), or operate it as a traditional bodypack transmitter with an external lav mic such as the Rode Lavalier GO (available separately).

Thanks to the receiver's minute form factor and integrated clip, it provides the flexibility to be easily mounted on a camera, in a sound bag, or to a mobile device. Its bright, high-contrast display shows battery status for the receiver and transmitter, audio level, signal strength, and more.

True Wireless Microphone Ready for Run-and-Gun

Equipped with a high-caliber, pre-polarized, omnidirectional lavalier built into the transmitter's compact housing, the Wireless GO II delivers quality audio without demanding a separate microphone (external lavalier mics optional).

The internal capsule's omnidirectional polar pattern ensures reliable audio pickup, even if mic placement is less than ideal; your subject's voice will be captured with clarity, intelligibility, and consistency.

              Grab a Mic and Go

Already have a top-of-the-line external lav? The transmitter packs in a 3.5mm TRS input with plug-in power, so you can connect most lavalier microphones equipped with a non-locking 3.5mm TRS mini plug (such as Rode's own Lavalier GO, available separately), and still enjoy the convenience of the Wireless GO II.

The 3.5mm TRS external mic input passes wideband audio along to the internal mic preamp, which provides requires no manipulation of settings or parameters.

              Sonically Solid and Secure

Like Rode's popular RODELink wireless systems, the Wireless GO II system utilizes the 2.4 GHz frequency band to get you away from the congested and confusing domain of UHF. Forget about scanning for channels and dialing in squelch to get a strong signal; the Wireless GO II just works!

Courtesy of Rode's optimized transmission algorithm, the Wireless GO II empowers you with a line-of-sight range of up to 656 feet, and bolsters signal dependability to mitigate drop-outs in crowded short-range environments such as retail stores, malls, office buildings, and hotels.

Rode's new Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission incorporates 128-bit encryption for security, stability, and hassle-free operation while bypassing the frustration of dealing with licenses and frequency mandates. Go anywhere in the world with the Wireless GO II; it automatically gives you a strong signal no matter the scenario.

Note: For optimal performance from this 2.4 GHz system, users are encouraged to maintain as direct a line of sight as possible between the transmitter and receiver. The Wireless GO II is not backward-compatible with the original Wireless GO system.

              Works with Rode Connect

The Wireless GO II can be fully integrated with Rode Connect software, allowing you to capture broadcast-grade sound for your content with more freedom and flexibility than ever before, perfect for IRL streaming, recording presentations or classes, and more.

Using the Wireless GO II with Rode Connect is also ideal for podcasting applications where you require the freedom of wireless audio, from recording interviews to casual podcasting setups.

Rode Connect allows two Wireless GO IIs to be connected to a single computer. Each transmitter can be allocated to its own channel in the software for a total of four separate wireless audio streams, each with an individual level meter, as well as solo and mute buttons. The Wireless GO II can also be used in conjunction with the NT-USB Mini within Rode Connect.

              Additional Features

The receiver's 3.5mm TRS output sends a mic-level signal, making it compatible with an array of devices such as DSLRs and portable audio recorders.

A 3-stage level control (0, -12, or -24 dB) on the receiver allows simple and effective optimization of signal levels. Use the app to adjust the level in 3 dB increments from 0 to -30 dB.

View transmitter and receiver battery levels on the receiver's bright, high-contrast display.

Operate up to four systems simultaneously for more complex setups including up to eight microphones.

Includes the SC5 3.5mm TRS "memory" cable for tidy cable management and compatibility with cameras, DSLRs, and portable audio recorders. Plug into your smartphone or tablet via an SC7 TRS-to-TRRS cable (available separately), or snag a VXLR adapter (available separately) for hookup to an XLR-equipped video camera or audio recorder.

Internal lithium-ion polymer batteries offer up to seven hours of battery life to handle long shoots.

USB Type-C ports for battery recharging, powering via external USB battery packs (available separately), and firmware updates.

Easily recharge over lunch and dinner breaks—go from empty to a full charge in just two hours.

Includes two USB Type-C to USB Type-A cables for simultaneously charging the transmitter and receiver.

Includes two furry windshields to minimize noise from wind and rustling clothes. These have been redesigned with a secure screw-lock bayonet attachment method to eliminate slippage.

                  • Monitor/Record with 3.5mm Headphone Jack
                  • Broadcast-Quality Capture up to 48 kHz

If you're shooting mobile iOS video and want better audio than what your phone provides—or if you need to record VO or ADR on the go—the Rode VideoMic Me-L is worth your consideration. This is a shotgun mic that plugs right into iOS devices via a lightning port, using the connection point as a mount as well.

The mic focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the capsule thanks to the directional polar pattern. It's primarily intended for use with iOS devices, though it does offer a 3.5mm TRS jack, which can be used for monitoring or for backup analog recording, provided you've plugged in the mic to a lightning port. Even though the mic can mount directly on top of your iOS lightning port, it comes with a dedicated mic clip should you rather use it as well as a furry windscreen for achieving a better sound in windy conditions.

Perfect for Mobile Video and More

With its simple plug-and-play form factor, the mic is perfectly suited for mobile iOS video recording. However, the quality of the mic itself is good enough to be used for VO or ADR when studios are not available; the mic has been used this way in a few television shows.

                  Broadcast Quality

When connected over the Lightning port, the mic captures audio in a broadcast-quality 48 kHz sample-rate, making it suitable for use in pro circumstances. The highly directional cardioid polar pattern will help tamp down unwanted room noise and ambience.

                  Versatile 3.5mm Jack

The built-in 3.5mm jack works with headphones, or it can also be utilized for backup recording.

                      Rode NT-USB Overview

Record podcasts, voice-overs, and even sung vocals for your productions with the RODE NT-USB, a USB microphone that captures broadcast-quality recordings in your home studio or mobile setup. If all you have is a room and a computer (or iOS device), you can use this microphone to record your voice with resolution and clarity.

Podcasters will appreciate the cardioid polar pattern-which naturally reduces room noise by rejecting any audio to the back and rear of the mic's capsule-as well as the built-in pop filter to minimize p-pops and plosives. Musicians will love the Direct Mix Control, as it will help them balance the level between their own voice and pre-recorded instruments without incurring latency. Both will be thankful the mic comes with all the accessories one needs to set it up right out of the box.

Designed for Your Voice, However You Use It

This mic is designed for your voice, whether you use it to podcast, record voice overs, or to sing over productions you've created in your laptop.

                      Works with Your Setup

The mic will operate with both Mac and Windows computers as well as iOS tablets, so long as you have the compatible adapter for mobile devices (available separately). No preamp, interface, converters, or mixer are necessary for recording your voice.

Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room

The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the mic. Depending on your particular room, you may still need a little room treatment, or some noise-reduction software, to address issues such as your computer's hum or your air conditioner—but the chances of that are markedly lower with a cardioid polar pattern.

Built-In 3.5mm Headphone Jack and Direct Mix Control

The mic offers a headphone jack for monitoring. Just plug a pair of headphones into the NT-USB Mini's 3.5mm jack, and you'll be able to listen to your Broadcast-quality audio in all its glory. Also, a convenient volume dial helps you raise or lower the headphone volume—you won't have to change the volume on your computer or your recording software to hear audio at your desired level. Lastly, the mic has a Direct Mix Control, so you can hear your voice balanced against any pre-recorded tracks at just the right level.

                      Broadcast-Quality Audio Capture

The mic records audio at 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. Your recording will be up to digital snuff with this mic!

Get Going Right Out of the Box

An included USB cable means you can get up and running right away. An included pop shield helps mitigate vocal pops and plosives for a cleaner sound. A desktop stand is included, as is a ring mount for your own mic stands, and a storage pouch for when the mic is not in use.

                      Rode NTG2 Overview

apture quality sound indoors or outside for your next indie film, TV shoot, or documentary project with the Rode NTG2 shotgun microphone. With low handling noise, the ability to endure loud sound sources before distortion, and support for battery or phantom power, the NTG2 offers a versatile, cost-effective solution for recording clean dialogue and sound effects.

The NTG2's elevated sensitivity allows it to produce strong output levels without having to apply extreme gain at your mic preamp. Sonically, the NTG2 delivers consistently clear sound due in part to its gentle rise in high frequencies and its rumble-reducing selectable low-cut filter. The durable and lightweight high-grade aluminum housing is finished in hard-wearing epoxy paint to withstand the stress of location recording.

                      Quality Sound Capture

The combination of the NTG2's 11" long body and supercardioid polar pattern yields focused front-facing directionality and enhanced attenuation of sound entering from the sides. Its low self-noise of 18 dBA and sensitive condenser element communicate detailed audio unburdened by the hiss that plagues many low-cost microphones. Plus, its balanced output allows longer cable runs than most camera-mount shotgun microphones.

                      Battery or Phantom Powered

Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output and operability with 48V phantom power or a single AA battery, the NTG2 is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters as well as built-in preamps on cameras and camcorders.

                      Ideal for Boompole Mounting

The NTG2 includes a mic clip for easy placement on a mic stand or boompole. Alternatively, mount the NTG2 in the Rode SM4-R shockmount or Rode PG2-R pistol grip (both available separately) to impede the transfer of vibrations in boompole or handheld applications.

                      Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise

The NTG2 has a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of handling noise and wind noise in indoor or outdoor environments, consider the Rode Blimp furry windshield and shockmount suspension system (available separately).
