Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro Iso HDMI Live Stream Switcher
Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro Iso HDMI Live Stream Switcher
      #6726

Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro Overview

The ATEM Mini Pro ISO HDMI Live Stream Switcher from Blackmagic Design is a four-input live production switcher with an integrated control panel designed for multicamera live streaming up to HD video to the internet via Ethernet output. It features a USB output that allows you to record the program output as well as record the individual HDMI inputs to an external USB drive (not included). In addition to recording the program stream and individual inputs, the ATEM Mini Pro ISO also records the embedded audio and analog audio inputs, generating a DaVinci Resolve project file of your live stream. This allows you to take your live production into DaVinci Resolve to make tweaks or adjustments using the source material that is already on your USB drive.

The ATEM Mini Pro ISO retains the same size, button layout, and rear panel interface connections as the ATEM Mini Pro, with new electronics that allow for the ISO recording and generation of the DaVinci project file. The ATEM Mini Pro ISO supports all the same features as the ATEM Mini Pro including upstream and downstream keyers, an advanced chroma keyer, two linear/luma keyers, a DVE transition keyer, a pattern generator, and color generators. There is also media player support for fill and key images, which supports up to 20 stills in PNG, TGA, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF formats. The ATEM Software Control Panel is used for control and configuration, and it allows you to monitor the data rate, audio meters, configuration, and status of your live feed. And you can use the panel to set up streaming to an optional Blackmagic Design Streaming Bridge anywhere in the world, as long as it is connected to the internet.

      General

      • Connecting a USB drive to the ATEM Mini Pro ISO's USB port enables capturing the switched program stream, as well as up to four isolated (ISO) recordings of input video, as well as embedded audio, analog input audio, graphics, and a DaVinci Resolve project file of your switched program
      • The device has the same footprint, layout, and connections of the ATEM Mini Pro
      • Stream video up to 1080p HD
      • Quick stream, on-air, and record buttons
      • Hardware encoder so there's no need for additional streaming software
      • Control and configure timecode, stream status
      • Full support and control features for BMPCC 6K/4K cameras
      • Simultaneous USB recording
      • Integration with MultiDock for live hard drive switching
      • Customize advanced settings with XML files
      • Software multiview with program previews, graphics, record status, on-air status, and audio meters
      • Program preview input and output buttons
      • Tally light control for BMPCC 6K/4K cameras
      • Automatic timecode sync for all cameras

      Transitions

      Available transitions include:

      • Cut: When you press the cut button, ATEM instantly changes from your current program source to the preview source. Cuts can be performed by directly Selecting sources or by pressing the cut button to switch to the next source.
      • Mix: The mix, or dissolve, gradually transitions from one source to the next by creating a smooth blend. You can set custom timings to manually blend the transition.
      • Dip: Just like mix transitions, a dip transition is a gradual blend that includes either a solid color, graphic, or another clip between the two video sources. Dips to black or white between sources are the most popular, or you can use logos or sponsor graphics.
      • Wipe: Built-in wipe patterns include circles, diamonds, squares, and more. Shapes and patterns can be inverted or softened and can even have customized colored borders.
      • DVE: with the powerful built-in digital video effects processor, or DVE, you can push, spin, squeeze, or swoosh your live video from one camera to the next with incredible built-in transitions. DVE transitions can be flip-flopped and reversed, giving you even more transition options.

      Upstream Keyer

Layer live video over other video sources or graphics with the upstream keyer. You can use the luma key, linear key, pattern key, or shoot against a green screen and use chroma key to instantly composite the video over virtual sets.

      • Luma key: Luma keys work best with high-contrast images, like white elements on a black background, so you can use the contrast to cut the black background and replace it with live video or graphics.
      • Linear key: Get clean, high-quality results with linear keying by using two separate sources for the fill and the key to create one video image. The fill signal contains the video to be stacked over the background, while the key signal contains a gray scale mask to cut out, or mask, the area to be filled.
      • Chroma key: Used every day for TV weather forecasts, chroma keys are a powerful way of combining live images in real time. The presenter typically stands in front of a green or blue background and the chroma keyer will remove only that color and combine it with another image, such as a video or graphic.
      • Pattern key: Combine live images with any of the built-in wipe patterns to combine live images or graphics with geometric shapes. You get full control over softness, symmetry, size, and position to create unique picture-in-picture effects that can be transitioned to as easily as any live source.

      Downstream Keyers

The ATEM Mini switcher includes one downstream keyer, so you can add high-quality graphics like logos, bugs, and titles from the built-in media player over the live stream program output. Downstream keyers are the last layers of keying, so they overlay all video switched to the main program output.

      Audio Mixer

The built-in audio mixer lets you control both camera and external audio with precision level and balance adjustments on all six available audio inputs and two channels. The mixer features Selectable on/off and audio-follow-video per channel, plus it has separate gain control per channel, level and peak metering, and new Fairlight audio enhancements such as compressor, gate, limiter, six bands of parametric EQ, and master gain control.

      Monitor Output

The HDMI monitor output allows you to see your sources, graphics, preview, and program output on a single screen.

      Media Player

Eliminate external character generators by storing up to 20 broadcast-quality RGBA graphic files in the media pool. The one media player appears as input sources to your switcher. You can transition to graphics as full-frame video, or feed them to the keyers for overlaying video. Popular image formats such as PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF are supported.

        • Ethernet and 12G-SDI Ports

The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera takes the digital film innovations of the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K and turns it into a box-style cinema camera with a lockable Canon EF lens mount and customizable side plates. A full-frame 6K sensor captures rich colors, accurate skin tones, and a wide 13-stop dynamic range with its expanded 36 x 24mm sensor. Record both Blackmagic RAW and H.265 proxy files to the cloud or even stream directly to your social media platform of choice via Ethernet or mobile 4G/5G technology. The PYXS can film up to 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 fps or 6K Anamorphic 6:5 video at 60 fps, among other selectable resolutions.

        Large-Format Digital Film Sensor

The PYXIS is equipped with a massive 24 x 36mm full-frame sensor with a native 6048 x 4032 resolution, making it 3x larger than a Super35 sensor. This allows you to shoot with a shallow depth of field or use anamorphic lenses without cropping for a true cinematic look. A 13-stop dynamic range with dual-native ISO up to 25,600 ensures low-noise imagery in all lighting conditions. Shoot up to 36 fps at full sensor resolution or 120 fps windowed.

        Flexible Film Formats

Work in a variety of film formats and aspect ratios without sacrificing quality, thanks to the large sensor. At its full area, the sensor provides you with Open Gate 3:2 images for easier framing in post-production. You can also work in true 6:5 anamorphic without needing to crop for widescreen cinematics. Use a Super35-sized window to create a close-up version of your shot.

        Multiple Resolutions and Frame Rates

Shoot in standard video resolutions and frame rates from HD to 6K or still images at 24.6 MP using the PYXIS. For higher frame rates, you can window the center and shoot up to 100 fps at 212 x 1184 Super 16. Other options include 6K Open Gate 3:2 at 36 fps, 4832 x 4032 anamorphic at 24 fps, and 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps, among other resolutions.

        HDR Imagery and Dual-Native ISO

A wide 13-stop dynamic range preserves more detail in both the lightest and darkest areas of your image. Set the exposure for an indoor scene while still retaining details in the bright outdoor light coming through a window. An expanded color range and included DaVinci Resolve Studio code give you creative freedom over the look of your footage. Dual-native ISO up to 25,600 minimizes grain and noise in your images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. ISO 400 is ideal for on-set lighting configurations, while ISO 3200 is perfect for dimly lit environments. The gain is automatically set as you adjust your ISO for intuitive control.

        Customize Your Gear

Mounting threads on the side of the PYXIS allow you to secure additional mounting plates and customize your gear configuration. The standard plate included with the PYXIS secures via M4 threads and adds two 1/4"-20 threads and one 3/8"-16 thread to the camera for microphones, articulating arms, or other accessories. An SSD plate offers two hook-and-loop straps for attaching a USB-C drive or mobile device, allowing you to directly record or live stream on the go. A separately available Rosette plate can be purchased for further expansion.

        LCD Monitor and Onboard Controls

        • Use the built-in 4" LCD touchscreen to monitor and review your shots on set. Its full HD resolution allows you to frame and focus without requiring an additional external unit. A maximum brightness of 1500 cd/m² ensures visibility even in bright sunlit conditions. On-screen overlays show status and recording parameters, histograms, levels, frame guides, and 3D LUTS, among other tools.
        • Onboard controls allow you to toggle functions like ISO, white balance, and shutter with ease. A scroll wheel makes quick adjustments, and three customizable function buttons can tailor your workflow to your preference. The controls can be locked to avoid accidental pressing during shooting.

        Post-Production File Formats

The PYXS records in Blackmagic RAW to preserve control of detail, exposure, and color during post-production. It also records H.264 proxy files in real time for easy sharing using the Blackmagic Cloud, Ethernet connection, or by connecting 5G/4G mobile phones to the USB-C port for mobile connection. Media files work on all operating systems.

        Multiple Recording Options

Two built-in CFExpress Type-B card slots and a USB-C expansion port allow you to record directly to external flash media disks or SSDs.

Built-In SRT and RTMP Live Streaming

Live stream directly from the PYXIS on set to a secondary location via SRT and RTMP protocols. Compatible platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and X can support signals from the PYXIS for live event production. If you want to share internally, use an ATEM Streaming Bridge for a wireless link back to the studio.

        Expansive Connectivity

        • The front of the PYXIS boasts a USB-C port for the Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF and a mini 3-pin XLR analog audio input with +48V Phantom power for microphone integration.
        • The back of the PYXIS has a headphone monitoring jack and an additional 3.5mm microphone input. Use the USB-C port at the back of the camera to connect to recording devices or mobile data.

FUJIFILM X-H2: Life in Detail

Pushing the boundaries of APS-C imaging, the FUJIFILM X-H2 is a high-resolution mirrorless crop-sensor camera featuring a groundbreaking 40MP BSI sensor and an arsenal of cutting-edge features packed into a small and durable X-series body. Standing atop the X-System lineup, this high performing camera inherits many of the GFX system's advances in digital capture technology to provide image quality, detail, and color rendition never before seen in a crop-sensor camera, while retaining its characteristic compact form factor and sleek design that has garnered the X-System a loyal following worldwide.

              Backside-Illuminated Sensor and 64-Bit Processing

              X-Trans 5 BSI Sensor

Ideal for architectural, travel, and landscape photographers, the X-H2 sports a backside-illuminated, APS-C-format 40MP X-Trans 5 HR sensor, which ups the resolution and improves low-light performance compared to previous generations. First, as an X-Trans sensor, it uses the unique color filter array that inherently minimizes moiré and contributes to more natural color rendering; next, the BSI design helps reduce noise and improve tonality and clarity; and, finally, the design greatly reduces rolling shutter and other motion distortion to better suit high-speed video and photo applications. The remarkable resolution allows for 2x digital zoom and has up to 13 stops of dynamic range.

              X-Processor 5

Partner to the newly designed sensor is a fresh engine—the X-Processor 5—which uses 64-bit processing to realize 3x faster speeds for both video and photo tasks compared to the X-T4. On the video side, this enables recording at bit rates of up to 720 mb/s.

On the stills end, this quick processing means faster shooting to suit photographing moving subjects. When working with an electronic shutter, shooting at up to 20 fps is possible, with a buffer of 202 consecutive uncompressed raw frames. With the mechanical shutter, shooting speeds of up to 15 fps are possible, along with the ability to shoot upwards of 1000 raw frames in a single burst.

Benefitting both video and stills applications, this processing also benefits the sophisticated and AI-backed autofocus system, helps achieve a 14-stop dynamic range, and enables an enhanced sensitivity range from ISO 125-12800.

              4K 120p and 8K 30p Internal Recording

Despite its focus on photography, the X-H2 has an impressive video system capable of 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording in 8K at 30fps and in both DCI/UHD 4K at up to 60 fps and Full HD at up to 240p. A variety of codecs are supported as well, including H.265 and three tiers of ProRes: the high bitrate 422 HQ, the standard 422, and the more compressed 422 LT. Also, continuous recording times up to 160 minutes are possible at all frame rates and resolutions and can be extended to 240 minutes with the external clip-on fan.

              External Raw Recording

Using the full-size HDMI port, 12-bit raw video recording is possible when paired with a compatible external recorder. Both ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW recording is possible, along with the ability to work with F-Log or F-Log 2 profiles, and either format supports working in resolutions up to the open-gate 8K.

              Improved Autofocus and Image Stabilization

Hybrid AF with Deep Learning AI

Benefitted by the improved processing, autofocus performance is noticeably faster and more intelligent. This hybrid focusing system uses 425 phase-detection points and is now sensitive down to -7 EV for working in truly low-light conditions. Also, backed by deep learning, an AI adaptive algorithm means this focusing system is better suited to automatically detect and track a variety of subject types.

              Pixel Shift Multishot

Pixel Shift Multishot takes multiple exposures in rapid succession, each one precisely shifting the image sensor by half a pixel, capturing the subject on a different part of the image sensor each time and yielding a single 160-Megapixel image with the help of the Pixel Shift Combiner software.

              In-Body Image Stabilization

                X-H2S: The New FUJIFILM Hybrid

Balancing strong photo and video capabilities, the FUJIFILM X-H2S is a multimedia mirrorless camera featuring a newly developed X-Trans stacked sensor, refined AF and subject detection, and impressive 6.2K video recording. Topping the X System, this camera mixes the intuitiveness, design, and image quality FUJIFILM is known for with a fresh, speedy approach to video and continuous shooting applications.

                Stacked Sensor and 64-Bit Processing

                X-Trans 5 Stacked BSI Sensor

The first X Series camera to feature a stacked sensor, the X-H2S sports an APS-C-format 26.1MP X-Trans 5 stacked BSI sensor, which ups the readout speeds and improves low-light performance compared to previous generations. First, as an X-Trans sensor, it uses the unique color filter array that inherently minimizes moiré and contributes to more natural color rendering; next, the BSI design helps reduce noise and improve tonality and clarity; and, finally, the stacked design greatly reduces rolling shutter and other motion distortion to better suit high-speed video and photo photo applications.

                X-Processor 5

Partner to the newly designed sensor is a fresh engine—the X-Processor 5—which uses 64-bit processing to realize 3x faster speeds for both video and photo tasks compared to the X-T4. On the video side, this enables recording at up to 6.2K with high bitrates like ProRes 422 HQ or at high speeds, like with 240 fps recording at Full HD.

On the stills end, this quick processing means faster shooting to suit photographing moving subjects. When working with an electronic shutter, shooting at up to 40 fps is possible, with a buffer of 140 consecutive uncompressed raw frame. With the mechanical shutter, shooting speeds up to 15 fps are possible, along with the ability to shoot upwards of 1000 raw frames in a single burst.

Benefitting both video and stills applications, this processing also benefits the sophisticated and AI-backed autofocus system, helps achieve a 14-stop dynamic range, and enables a broad sensitivity range from ISO 160-12800.

                Powerful Video Capabilities

                4K 120p and 6.2K 30p Internal Recording

With a penchant for video, the X-H2S has a well-rounded recording system that places this camera squarely in the 'hybrid' category and performs equally well for video as it does for video. Internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording is possible in both DCI/UHD 4K at up to 120p and Full HD at up to 240p as well as an open-gate 3:2 6.2K setting that's suitable for anamorphic applications. A variety of codecs are supported as well, including H.265 and three tiers of ProRes: the high bitrate 422 HQ, the standard 422, and the more compressed 422 LT. Also, continuous recording times up to 90 minutes are possible at all frame rates and resolutions.

                External Raw Recording

Using the full-size HDMI port, raw video recording is possible when paired with a compatible external recorder. Both ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW recording is possible, along with the ability to work with F-Log or F-Log 2 profiles, and either format supports working in resolutions up to the open-gate 6.2K.

Compared to previous focusing systems, the X-H2S's Face and Eye Detection capabilities have been refined for greater accuracy and to account for unique features, like glasses, face coverings, and hairlines. Also, the range of recognized subjects types has been expanded to include cars, planes, trains, motorcyclists, birds, horses, dogs, cats and more.

                In-Body Image Stabilization

Built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 7 stops. A follow-up to the Crane-2, the Zhiyun-Tech CRANE 2S has been highly upgraded to better suit the needs of filmmakers. Featuring a new-generation 9th Instune Algorithm that improves the responsiveness of each axis, the CRANE 2S is capable of stabilizing large cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket 6K, Panasonic S1H, and Canon EOS 1DX Mark II along with accessories. (Please visit the Zhiyun website for a full list of compatible cameras and lenses.)

To support a collaborative process, the CRANE 2S offers dedicated mounting points for attaching an optional Zhiyun-Tech TransMount transmitter. Another new feature, integrated to support the growing demand for social media content, is a vertical quick release mount that enables you to set your camera up vertically. Besides this, a new FlexMount system is used for mounting your camera the standard way. This technology simplifies the mounting and setup process while securing your camera with a double-safety mechanism. The axis-locking mechanism for balancing a camera has also been improved with a two-phase locking design. The axis-locking mechanism additionally ensures that there's no movement of the gimbal components during travel or storage.

The built-in handwheel on the side of the handle has been upgraded to allow for very low delay when controlling an add-on lens motor, sold separately, so you can make adjustments with more precision. (When using both a focus and zoom motor, you can set the handwheel to control your choice of one or the other.) On the bottom of the handle is a 1/4"-20 thread that allows you to attach the included mini tripod to be used as a stand or as an extension that can be held with the other hand for more control.

Using the companion iOS/Android mobile app, advanced cinematic functions such as panorama, time-lapse, motion-lapse, and long exposure time-lapse can be performed with the gimbal to achieve creative results. Many of the gimbal's parameters can be adjusted via this app, while many key modes and parameters can be accessed directly from the 0.96" OLED screen right above the handle.

The CRANE 2S also supports a variety of dedicated Zhiyun-Tech TransMount accessories, which include servo motors. The quick release plate included with the gimbal is compatible with many common tripod heads so you can efficiently move your camera between the gimbal and tripods, sliders, and other camera supports. Also included are a lens control and multiple camera control cables to allow for a comprehensive workflow. The CRANE 2S runs for up to 12 hours on three included batteries, which are rechargeable using a supplied triple charger.

FUJIFILM XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens

Mixing versatility, speed, and a sleek design, the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS from FUJIFILM is a flexible 27-84mm-equivalent standard zoom for X-mount mirrorless cameras. Its bright f/2.8-4 maximum aperture range suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also helps to keep the overall and size and weight of the lens down. In regard to optics, this zoom features three aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element, which help to control spherical and chromatic aberrations in order to improve sharpness and clarity. A Super EBC coating also improves contrast and color neutrality by reducing flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, benefitting use in a variety of situations, a linear motor delivers quick and quiet autofocus performance and a five stop-effective image stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake.

Standard zoom is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 27-84mm equivalent focal length range.

One extra-low dispersion element is used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

Three aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, which helps to improve sharpness and realize more accurate rendering.

Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

A linear motor autofocus system, coupled with an internal focusing design, delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.

Complemented by an enhanced gyro sensor and unique series of algorithms, the optical stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops to enable sharper imaging when working with longer focal lengths or slower shutter speeds.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.
