The Sony HXR-NX200 single 20 megapixel * 1.0 type Exmor R CMOS sensor is approximately the same size as a 16mm film frame and seven times larger than the three 1/4.7 sensor types combined. The main benefits of this large size are low noise and less blur as more light reaches the sensor, offering clear and stable images even in dark scenes with a minimum exposure of 1.7 lux**. The large sensor size also allows for beautiful background shifting (bokeh) to allow you to focus on what you want to display and change the focus of the rest of the image.
