Whereas most wireless systems work in the 2.4 GHz, UHF, and VHF frequency ranges, the Blink 800 B2 sits in the 5.8 GHz zone, effectively eliminating the most common sources of wireless interference. Boasting an operating range of up to 196.9 feet (line-of-sight), the B2 ensures dependable reception, even in large venues. In the event that several wireless setups are needed, three Blink 800 systems can be used at the same time (additional systems available separately). Since they automatically change channels to maintain optimal performance, there's no manual configuration required.
The Blink 800 B2 is an ideal solution to give you freedom to be untethered by a cable when using a handheld mic for interviews or a powered shotgun microphone on a boompole. Because there are no settings or menus to have to worry about, it serves as an extremely simple wireless plug-on mic system. Pre-paired out of the box, there's nothing to do besides connect your XLR microphone to the TX-XLR transmitter and connect the RX-XLR receiver to your camera, recorder, or mixer's XLR input, turn them on, and starting shooting. All of the complicated aspects of using a wireless mic system happen seamlessly in the background, letting you concentrate on storytelling and getting a great shot.
Since the TX-XLR transmitter does not supply phantom power, it supports operation with dynamic microphones and battery-powered condenser mics. This makes it a great companion for traditional handheld mics as well as many pole-mounted shotgun microphones.
The Blink 800 B2 operates in the 5.8 GHz frequency range, which is much higher and much less congested than 2.4 GHz, UHF, and VHF. It automatically and intelligently changes channels to avoid static noise and audio dropouts and features a strong 10mW of wireless output power, providing an impressive range of up to 196.9' in open spaces. With up to six hours of operating time from integrated lithium-ion batteries, you won't be wasting money on disposable batteries. The transmitter and receiver can be charged with included USB Type-A to USB Type-C cables and may be powered in use or recharged in the field with portable USB battery packs.
