The Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Zoom Lens for Leica L is a full frame compatible ultra wide angle zoom lens. Compatible with any Leica-L mount cameras such as the Panasonic S series, Leica SL series, and Sigma fp cameras. Currently it is the WorldâÂÂs Widest Ultra-Wide Angle zoom lens, and offers an impressive angle of view of 102 - 130 degrees. The Laowa 10-18mm is a full manual lens, (including manual focus) with no electronic connections. It can also be used on Leica's smaller APS-C sized sensors cameras, still giving a wide focal length of 15-27mm equivalent.
Compact & relatively lightweight at 496g, making the Laowa a great travel friendly lens for Full frame Sony shooters. The Laowa offers a super wide perspective,for producing very wide and open perspective whilst delivering great sharpness for a wide angle zoom lens. Lens design is 14 elements in 10 groups with 2 Aspherical elements and an Extra Low Dispersion element to provide the maximum optical performance throughout the zoom Range.
Due to the compact design, the Laowa 10-18mm offers versatile options for filters users which will be a welcome relief for many landscape photographers. Filter options include a rear 37mm slot for UV / ND filters.
As well as being a very capable performer, the lens has a straight 5 bladed aperture, carefully chosen to offer a pleasant 10-points sunstars rendering, making it an excellent tool for nightscape photography. Short focusing distance as close as 15cm (which is about the closest in its class) for some mini-macro shooting possibilities
Easy conversion between photo and video mode with a Selectable Click to clickless aperture design makes the lens appealing to photographers and videographers alike. The Click / clickless aperture can be toggled by the switch on the lens barrel which allows users to quickly switch between click-less and clicked aperture.
