Gitzo GT2542 Mountaineer Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod
The GT2542 Mountaineer Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod from Gitzo features Carbon eXact tubing, which includes High Modulus carbon fiber in the lower leg sections, adding to their diameters and making the tripod more rigid and stronger than its predecessor. The GT2542 has a load capacity of 48.5 lb, extends to a maximum height of 65.7", and folds down to 22" for transport.
The center column on the tripod can be removed for Ground Level Set, which enables the tripod to reach its lowest height of 5.9". Its four-section legs are secured with twist locks that incorporate G-lock Ultra, which has an internal O-ring to prevent dust and particles from entering the leg system. The top spider has been redesigned to add rigidity, and large leg angle selectors give you more area to grip when readjusting leg angles. A ballast hook on the center column allows you to add weight to increase the tripod's stability.
Gitzo GH3382QD Series 3 Center Ball Head with Arca-Type Screw Knob QR Receiver
The GH3382QD Series 3 Center Ball Head from Gitzo is an Arca-type compatible ball head that is compatible with Mountaineer Series 2 and 3 tripods, has a load capacity of 44.1 lb, an independent panning lock for 360° rotation, and a height of 5". The head weighs 1.7 lb and has a tungsten disulfide coating to help keep the ball movement smooth while it minimizes sticking and slipping. A screw lock lock tightens down on the included quick release plate, and a bubble level helps maintain straight horizons in your images. To allow for precise adjustments, a friction control dial is integrated into the large locking knob.
Gitzo 3-Way Fluid Head
The compact 4.5" tall 3-Way fluid Head from Gitzo is a pan-and-tilt head with independent vertical, lateral, and pan locks. The locks disengage to enable you to move the head with a vertical range of -70° to +90°, in a lateral range of -30° to +90°, and in a full 360° pan. Each axis has an independent fluid cartridge to ensure that every movement is met with effortless smoothness without sticking. The Arca-type clamp at the top of the head also provides a 90° rotation that helps you switch from portrait to landscape orientation, as well as shooting straight to the ground. The two-axis bubble level rotates to match your orientation and ensures your horizon is straight. At the same time, the 2.1 lb three-way fluid head can support camera equipment weighing up to 28.6 lb. Its handles are retractable to easily store away.
