Sony a6400 Mirrorless Camera

Grab the Best of Life

Featuring a reliable design and apt performance to bolster creativity, the Sony a6400 is a sleek APS-C-format mirrorless camera featuring well-rounded photo and video capabilities. Using a proven sensor design, quick and precise AF performance, and smart operability, this camera is an ideal partner for capturing your everyday moments and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

24.2MP APS-C Exmor CMOS Sensor and BIONZ X Processor

The APS-C-format 24.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor realizes smooth, nuanced image quality with minimal noise and high sensitivity from ISO 100-32000, which can further be expanded to ISO 102400 for working in low-light conditions. The sensor features a unique design that utilizes thin copper wiring, enhanced circuit processing, and an enhanced front-end LSI to boost light-gathering abilities, reduce noise, and increase readout speeds to benefit video recording. The sensor and BIONZ X processor combination also avails a top continuous-shooting rate of 11 fps with AF and AE, or up to 8 fps with a silent shutter, and permits 14-bit raw file output for a wide tonal and color scale.

UHD 4K Video Recording in XAVC S Format

  • Internal recording of UHD 4K video is possible in multiple frame rates up to 30 fps using the full width of the sensor with 8-bit 4:2:0 color sampling using the 100Mbps XAVC S codec.
  • Oversampled 4K recording is also possible, which uses a 6K capture area within the Super 35 area, for greater detail. This full pixel readout is void of pixel binning for higher quality imagery with reduced moiré and aliasing.
  • Affording extensive customizable color and gamma controls, the ZV-E10 allows users to adjust the gamma, black level, knee, color level, and more. Use the same S-Log2 Gamma Curve that is found on high-end Sony Cinema cameras, which squeezes up to 1300% more dynamic range into the video signal then traditional Rec. 709, for increased post-production flexibility. HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) support is also available, along with the BT.2020 color space, for recording within a wide color gamut and, in addition to S-Log2, S-Log3 is also available for producing an effective 14-stop dynamic range with increased grading control in the shadow to mid-tone regions of the image.
  • In addition to high-resolution internal recording, uncompressed HDMI output also enables the use of an optional external recorder for clean 4K recording with 4:2:2 sampling.

  • Interval shooting mode is ideal for creating time-lapse movies with the aid of Imaging Edge software. Intervals can be selected between 1-60 seconds for recording up to 9999 sequential frames.
  • 4K video recording also avails the ability to produce 8MP stills during playback by taking a frame grab from a movie and storing it as a separate file.
  • Slow & Quick (S&Q) mode allows shooters to capture Full HD video at specified steps between 1-120 fps. These settings will allow you to slow down action as well as speed up a slow-moving scene.

4D FOCUS

Covering nearly the entire sensor area, a powerful 4D FOCUS system incorporates 425 on-chip phase-detection points along with 425 contrast-detection areas for precise focusing in as little as 0.02 seconds. The density of focusing points from this hybrid AF system also enables High-density Tracking AF Technology, which is adept at tracking moving subjects in a variety of lighting conditions.

  • Real-time Eye AF can be used to base focus on recognized human subjects' eyes for portraits and is available in both AF-S and AF-C modes and for both stills and video.
  • Eye AF can be used when photographing animal subjects, too, with any focusing mode when shooting stills.

  • Lock-on AF maintains focus on moving subjects throughout the use of a configurable frame that is set over the desired moving subject
  • Expand Flexible Spot employs neighboring focus points to retain focus on moving subjects even if the originally selected point loses focus
  • The Focus Magnifier function can be used for critical focus when homing in on minute subject details
  • Rear touchscreen can be used for Touch Focus and Touch Tracking control and a Touchpad Focus Control mode lets you use the rear screen intuitively while keeping your eye to the viewfinder
  • In addition to autofocus, the a6400 also features a Peaking MF function to benefit manual focus control by highlighted sharp edges of contrast for a more objective means of acquiring sharp focus

Body Design and Connectivity

  • Tru-Finder 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers a bright, high-resolution means for eye-level monitoring.
  • A 3.0" 921.6k-dot LCD touchscreen can be tilted 180° upward or 74° downward to suit working from high and low angles. The screen also incorporates White Magic technology with an RGBW pixel structure for increased brightness to support use in daylight conditions.
  • The touchscreen design avails access to Touch Focus control, for immediate focus point selection, as well as a Touchpad function which lets you smoothly and intuitively select a focus point on the screen while you're looking into the viewfinder.

  • Integrated 3.5mm microphone ports afford greater control over audio during video recording.
  • The included NP-FW50 rechargeable lithium-ion is rated for approximately 410 shots per charge when working with the LCD screen or 360 shots when using the viewfinder.
  • In addition to the battery, the a6400 can also be powered via a USB connection to a computer or mobile battery. This connection can also be used to charge the battery.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi enables the a6400 to instantly share imagery to mobile devices for direct sharing online to social networking, via email, and to cloud storage sites. NFC (Near Field Communication) is also supported, which allows for one-touch connection between the camera and compatible mobile devices; no complex set-up is required. Once connected, the linked mobile device can also display a live view image on its screen and remotely control the camera's shutter.

Standing atop the X-System lineup, this high performing camera inherits many of the GFX system's advances in digital capture technology to provide image quality, detail, and color rendition never before seen in a crop-sensor camera, while retaining its characteristic compact form factor and sleek design that has garnered the X-System a loyal following worldwide.

        Backside-Illuminated Sensor and 64-Bit Processing

        X-Trans 5 BSI Sensor

Ideal for architectural, travel, and landscape photographers, the X-H2 sports a backside-illuminated, APS-C-format 40MP X-Trans 5 HR sensor, which ups the resolution and improves low-light performance compared to previous generations. First, as an X-Trans sensor, it uses the unique color filter array that inherently minimizes moiré and contributes to more natural color rendering; next, the BSI design helps reduce noise and improve tonality and clarity; and, finally, the design greatly reduces rolling shutter and other motion distortion to better suit high-speed video and photo applications. The remarkable resolution allows for 2x digital zoom and has up to 13 stops of dynamic range.

        X-Processor 5

Partner to the newly designed sensor is a fresh engine—the X-Processor 5—which uses 64-bit processing to realize 3x faster speeds for both video and photo tasks compared to the X-T4. On the video side, this enables recording at bit rates of up to 720 mb/s.

On the stills end, this quick processing means faster shooting to suit photographing moving subjects. When working with an electronic shutter, shooting at up to 20 fps is possible, with a buffer of 202 consecutive uncompressed raw frames. With the mechanical shutter, shooting speeds of up to 15 fps are possible, along with the ability to shoot upwards of 1000 raw frames in a single burst.

Benefitting both video and stills applications, this processing also benefits the sophisticated and AI-backed autofocus system, helps achieve a 14-stop dynamic range, and enables an enhanced sensitivity range from ISO 125-12800.

        Powerful Video Capabilities

        4K 120p and 8K 30p Internal Recording

Despite its focus on photography, the X-H2 has an impressive video system capable of 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording in 8K at 30fps and in both DCI/UHD 4K at up to 60 fps and Full HD at up to 240p. A variety of codecs are supported as well, including H.265 and three tiers of ProRes: the high bitrate 422 HQ, the standard 422, and the more compressed 422 LT. Also, continuous recording times up to 160 minutes are possible at all frame rates and resolutions and can be extended to 240 minutes with the external clip-on fan.

        External Raw Recording

Using the full-size HDMI port, 12-bit raw video recording is possible when paired with a compatible external recorder. Both ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW recording is possible, along with the ability to work with F-Log or F-Log 2 profiles, and either format supports working in resolutions up to the open-gate 8K.

        Improved Autofocus and Image Stabilization

Hybrid AF with Deep Learning AI

Benefitted by the improved processing, autofocus performance is noticeably faster and more intelligent. This hybrid focusing system uses 425 phase-detection points and is now sensitive down to -7 EV for working in truly low-light conditions. Also, backed by deep learning, an AI adaptive algorithm means this focusing system is better suited to automatically detect and track a variety of subject types.

        Pixel Shift Multishot

Pixel Shift Multishot takes multiple exposures in rapid succession, each one precisely shifting the image sensor by half a pixel, capturing the subject on a different part of the image sensor each time and yielding a single 160-Megapixel image with the help of the Pixel Shift Combiner software.

        In-Body Image Stabilization

Built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 7 stops. This system works in conjunction with most X Series lenses, including non-stabilized ones, and benefits working with slower shutter speeds and when shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, digital image stabilization can also be used during video recording to further aid in steadying footage, especially when recording handheld.

Up to 4K120 Slow and Fast Motion Recording Mode in 4:2:2 10-Bit

The EOS R5 C camera can record High Frame Rate (HFR) movies at up to 120p at DCI/UHD 4K resolutions (4096 x 2160/3840 x 2160) in 4:2:2 10-bit without cropping the sensor. Great for shooting scenes full of fast-paced action, the EOS R5 C camera's fast and intuitive autofocus remains enabled even during HFR recording, making it ideal when shooting from a gimbal or drone, delivering outstanding focus accuracy at HFR or at common frame rates.

Simultaneous Audio Recording Enabled with HFR

Unlike some other cameras where audio is not recorded during HFR shooting, the EOS R5 C camera can record .WAV audio as a separate file from video, virtually eliminating the need for separate audio recording and delivering HFR video and audio files in one convenient device when shooting slow motion or fast motion video.

Canon Log 3 Expands Expressive Possibilities

The EOS R5 C camera features Canon Log 3, which is found in many Canon cameras and works with multiple Canon EOS and Cinema EOS cameras. The wide dynamic range can be used for a wider range of grading after shooting. Canon Log 3 is a gamma that is designed for simple grading, such as tightening dark areas and adjusting tones. It carries on Canon Log's ease of use with less noticeable noise. It can also be used when shooting with other Cinema EOS system cameras such as the EOS C300 Mark III and EOS C70 cameras.

                Enhanced Image Stabilization

Enhanced image stabilization is achieved through coordinated control when Canon's RF lenses with optical IS are combined with the EOS R5 C camera's electronic IS when shooting XF-AVC or MP4 formats. With an RF lens that has optical IS and the electronic IS in the EOS R5 C camera, coordinated control helps achieve the optimum hand-shake correction effects. This helps achieve better anti-vibration performance than with conventional IS-equipped EF lenses (using optional Mount Adapter EF-EOS R) and electronic IS together.

Canon VR with RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens Support and Workflow

Dual Pixel CMOS AF with iTR AF X

Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology uses every pixel on the imaging sensor to detect focus, and also to capture actual image information achieving both high precision focusing and high image quality. With most Canon RF and EF lenses, AF for video can be carried out over approximately 80% of the vertical and horizontal area of the screen.

                • Touch AF allows positioning an AF point by simply touching the LCD screen, in addition to quick manual positioning with the 8-way multi-controller on the rear of the camera.
                • The camera features Eye AF/Head Detection AF, developed with the use of deep learning technology to improve subject tracking.
                • It also provides human detection (eyes/face/head), allowing it to track subjects accurately even when AF control is not available.
                • Users can track focusing as desired depending on their subject or shooting situation. A wide variety of AF modes enable autofocus shooting that flexibly responds to the subject's movement.
                • Users can leave focusing to the camera and concentrate on their camera work.

                Still Imaging Features

                High Still-Image Quality Featuring a 45MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor & DIGIC X Processor.

Still-imaging features and operation are nearly identical to Canon's EOS R5 camera. The EOS R5 C camera features the same Canon-developed CMOS sensor with approx. 45 effective megapixels, and a DIGIC X Image Processor to enhance the speed of operations across the board. This means fast, efficient performance and phenomenal image quality for big prints, impressive video, and more.

DIGIC X Image Processor with an ISO Range of 100-51200; Expandable to 102400

Delivering high standard and expanded ISOs (for still images), and a broad range of options to help enhance shooting in varied and fast-changing lighting situations, the EOS R5 C camera can shoot at expanded sensitivities down to ISO 50 (L) and up to 102400 (H).

                High-Speed Continuous Shooting

                • High-speed continuous shooting of up to 12 fps with Mechanical Shutter and up to 20 fps Electronic (Silent) Shutter
                • High-speed continuous shooting with full AF subject detection and tracking, at all still-image quality settings
                • A high-precision Dual Pixel CMOS AF system allows the EOS R5 C camera to reliably capture approximately 100% of the still-image area, with most Canon lenses

Same Subject Detection and Tracking AF as the Canon EOS R5

The same subject detection and tracking AF as the Canon EOS R5 Camera, even at shooting speeds as fast as 20 fps.

                dual-pixel-cmos-af-itr-af-x-02

                Head and Eye Detection

Select "People" as the EOS R5 C's "subjects to detect," and like the EOS R5, it can focus on a detected person's eyes, face, head (if a face is obscured), or even entire body if a head cannot be detected.

                Animal Detection

For still images, the same revolutionary Animal Detection AF as the EOS R5 can identify and focus upon eyes, faces, or bodies of birds, cats, and dogs, and can do so over virtually the entire image area with many Canon lenses. This opens up game-changing possibilities for wildlife images, even with subjects as challenging as birds in flight.

                Vehicle Detection

Carried over from the high-performance Canon EOS R3 camera, the EOS R5 C adds Vehicle Detection AF as a subject detection option, during still-image shooting. Cars and motorcycles, especially in racing applications, can be identified and tracked, even at high speeds. User-selectable Spot Detection lets the R5 C's AF detect the helmets of an exposed rider or driver, and put focus upon them, instead of the leading edge of the vehicle.

                AF Area Flexibility

Select the size of the active AF area from a precise single AF point to the entire available AF area and rapidly move a user-selected area via the 8-way multi-controller on the back of the camera. The EOS R5 C has the same range of choices for still-image AF method selection as the EOS R5 camera.

AF Area Coverage of Approx. 100% x 100% for Still Images

The EOS R5 C camera features an expansive focus area of approximately 100% horizontal and 100% vertical when working with select RF and EF lenses, during still-image shooting. With older EF lenses, or with EF Extender types I and II, the EOS R5 C focuses on approx. 80% horizontally and 80% vertically of the image. This means fast and impressive focusing even when composing your subject far from the center of the frame.

                EV -6 Low-Light Autofocus

Great for night photography or in very low-light settings, the EOS R5 C camera's brilliant AF can operate for still images in light as dim as a light rating of EV -6 where other AF systems may fail or search. Still-image AF is possible with lens + Canon RF tele extender combinations having maximum effective apertures as slow as f/22 - meaning AF is still possible with the RF 800mm f/11 IS STM + RF 2x Extender.

                Lens Control

Three lens rings enable smooth, natural adjustment of focus, zoom, and iris control. The rings are not mechanically linked to the lens movement, but there is a mechanical feel to the rings. However, they are endlessly rotating, which protects your lens elements from pinning, and the faster you rotate the lens ring the more reactive the result. The lens can also be used in full-auto mode or completely manual for maximum creative control.

                Built-In ND Filters

The PXW-Z150 is equipped with an ND Filter function, allowing you to choose four conventional mechanical ND filter positions (Clear, 1/4ND, 1/16ND, and 1/64ND) for better exposure and depth of field control.

RED has taken fresh steps with the release of the KOMODO 6K Digital Cinema Camera by bringing their legendary image quality and color science into an ultra-compact, all-in-one design that weighs just 2.1 lb measures about 4 x 4 x 4". Key to achieving this goal was the use of the Canon RF lens mount and the KOMODO 19.9MP Super35 CMOS sensor which boasts Global Shutter technology. This sensor can create images with 16+ stops dynamic Range and eliminates rolling shutter artifacts. Users can also be certain they are getting RED quality thanks to the ability to record up to 6K at 40 fps, 5K at 48 fps, 4K at 60 fps, and 2K at 120 fps in REDCODE RAW for incredible flexibility in post-production. The KOMODO firmware update Beta v.1.5.0 adds support for 6K anamorphic, 4-channel audio, FTPS for remote offloading, Canon RF lens-control ring support, and more. It also adds ExAscend CFast 512GB and 1TB cards to the approved media list.

Revolutionary for RED is the creation of an extremely compact all-in-one design with the KOMODO. This means you can simply pop in a CFast 2.0 card into its media slot and you are ready to roll with data rates up to 280 MB/s. A top 2.9" 1440 x 1440 touchscreen makes it easy to configure and monitor your footage or you can use the RED Control system for using an iOS or Android device for preview and settings. This is possible through integrated 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi. Wired control is also possible via the USB Type-C port and optional adapters.

The use of the Canon RF lens mount allows the KOMODO to be extremely compact while still enabling compatibility with a vast Range of lenses through the use of optional adapters. The mount will natively support mechanical RF lenses and mechanical EF lenses via the included adapter. Using optional electronic EF-to-RF mount adapters, the KOMODO will even support electronic Canon EF-mount lenses and unlock additional functionality, such as autofocus.

A first for RED is the ability to use Phase-Detect Autofocus (PDAF) with compatible lenses. This includes adapted Canon EF-mount lenses used with a separately available EF-to-RF adapter with electronic communication. Phase-detect systems are known for their speed by measuring and comparing distance and should provide a reliable, accurate system for video production. Additionally, the touchscreen can be used for quickly changing focus and Selecting subjects.

Getting back to image quality, the KOMODO promises to be among RED's finest with the ability to capture up to 6K at 40 fps using the powerful 16-bit REDCODE RAW format. RED has simplified compression options, giving users a choice between HQ, MQ, and LQ, each varying compression from low to high, respectively. Having these choices allows users to choose the best option for each shoot and whether to prioritize data rate or image quality. REDCODE RAW is supported for 5K up to 48 fps, 4K up to 60 fps, and 2K up to 120 fps and will deliver the greatest possible flexibility in post-production. Those looking to use a more conventional format can record natively in Apple ProRes 422 HQ and standard 422 with DCI 4K up to 60 fps or DCI 2K up to 120 fps.

Being a complete all-in-one camera solution, the KOMODO features an array of necessary ports and connections. This includes integrated stereo microphones and a 3.5mm input for audio, genlock/timecode/GPIO/RS232 support via a 9-pin EXT port, and a DC power input. Versus conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design more closely mimics the organic nature of film in order To produce nuanced colors and tonal transitions, while also reducing moirƒƒ‚© and aliasing.

The sensor design also includes an expanded phase-detection autofocus system, which has 425 Selectable points that cover nearly the entire sensor area. This AF system delivers faster, more accurate focusing performance in a variety of lighting conditions down To -6 EV. Complementing the imaging and focusing capabilities, an updated X-Processor 4 is also featured, which has a quad-core CPU, and delivers faster, more responsive performance throughout the camera system, including a full-resolution 15 fps shooting rate with the mechanical shutter, 20 fps rate with an electronic shutter, or a 30 fps rate with an electronic shutter and a 1.25x crop.

                      In-Body Image Stabilization

Built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization helps To minimize the appearance of camera shake by up To 6.5 stops. This system works in conjunction with most X Series lenses, including non-stabilized ones, and benefits working with slower shutter speeds and when shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, 4-axis digital image stabilization can also be used during video recording To further aid in steadying footage, especially when recording handheld.

UHD and DCI 4K Video Recording

Expanding its capabilities beyond stills, the X-T4 offers a versatile array of video capabilities, including internal DCI/UHD 4K recording at up To 60 fps and Full HD recording up To 240 fps for ultra slow-motion playback. Greatly benefitting overall video performance, the speed of the X-Processor 4 enables fast read speeds when recording video and helps To reduce rolling shutter distortion when filming moving subjects. Also, a micro-HDMI port enables 10-bit 4:2:2 recording To an optional external recorder.

In addition To the supported 10-bit color depth, the X-T4 also includes the F-Log gamma setting, which provides a flat picture for use in advanced color grading software during editing. Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR Lens

Included with the camera body is the XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR; a versatile 24-120mm-equivalent zoom, spanning wide-angle to medium-telephoto, and featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture. Complementing this flexible design is an advanced optical layout, which includes a trio of aspherical elements and one ED aspherical element that help to minimize a variety of aberrations in order to produce high sharpness and clarity. A Super EBC coating also improves contrast and color neutrality by reducing flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions. Also benefitting use in a variety of situations is a quick and quiet autofocus system along with a six stop-effective image stabilization system that minimizes the appearance of camera shake. Additionally, the lens is fully weather-sealed for working in inclement conditions.
