DJI Ronin-S Overview

The Ronin-S Essentials Kit is a bundle that includes the Ronin-S and key accessories that differ from what comes with the standard Ronin-S. While this bundle does not have a focus wheel and some other accessories that the standard Ronin-S includes, the Essentials Kit does provide a host of key accessories designed to get you shooting right away while offering a substantial savings.

The Ronin-S represents a scalable ecosystem for integrating DSLR and mirrorless cameras into professional-grade workflows. The single-handed form factor of the Ronin-S supports up to 8 lb and runs up to 12 hours on a single charge of the included battery grip. Additionally, separate modules are available sold separately for the handle and accessory docks, allowing you to customize the gimbal based on how you wish to operate it.

The CRANE 3S PRO from Zhiyun-Tech is a powerful redesign of previous Zhiyun gimbals with the addition of detachable handle options, a large 14.3 lb payload, an updated axis-locking system, external power input, and the ViaTouch 2.0 motion control system. The CRANE 3S PRO also features numerous advanced features such as wireless video transmission, professional zoom and focus controllers, and an external battery option. It can also accommodate a wide range of camera sizes by utilizing a separately available extension module to extend the horizontal arm, which is now positioned at a 55° angle. The gimbal can stabilize camera loads up to 14.3 lb.

The 3S PRO has two options for the detachable, angled handle. The included SmartSling handle offers an ergonomic handle with an integrated joystick and control buttons, and the optional EasySling handle provides a simple, comfortable handgrip without controls. The handle enables you to seamlessly switch to underslung mode, whether with one or two hands, and achieve creative shots such as 330° roll shots as you move closer toward a subject. All the controls you need are provided at your fingertips at the top of the main handle along with an OLED status screen. The free Zhiyun iOS/Android app provides many of the same control functions as well as special features such as panorama, focus time-lapse, motion time-lapse, long exposure time-lapse, camera settings, and more.

You can power the 3S PRO using an internal battery, but if you need extra shooting time a DC port allows you to plug in the included Transmount PowerPlus battery pack that contains six 18650 batteries. The CRANE 3S PRO can be controlled using the updated ViaTouch 2.0 iOS or Android smartphone app via Bluetooth 5.0 for remote motion control and to manage the gimbal settings. Also included with the 3S PRO is the Transmount Image Transmission System transmitter, which allows you to connect your camera, mount the transmitter on the gimbal, and transmit your live camera view to a separately available Transmount receiver.

Nine accessory mounting threads are available around the gimbal to add a variety of Transmount or third-party accessories. Another major feature of the gimbal is a redesigned axis latch lock system consisting of a separate latch lock on each axis that provides solid locking in place without excess sway. Improving on the previous OM 5 gimbal stabilizer, the platinum gray DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Smartphone Gimbal stabilizer comes in an even more compact frame that's easier to balance and fold down, and it now features an extension rod that provides an additional 8.5" length to help design more creative shots. It also comes with an improved magnetic phone clamp that allows the gimbal to automatically detect your phone and aligns the clamp. You can mount any smartphone up to 3.3" wide in its phone cradle, and its magnetic phone holder allows for simple and fast mounting and unmounting. The integrated intelligent sensor even tells you when your smartphone is mounted. The built-in battery runtime is approximately 6.4 hours, and it takes approximately 1.5 hours to charge using the included USB-C cable. The bottom of the gimbal handle features a mounting thread to mount the gimbal on the included grip tripod or other accessories. A storage pouch is also included to store and transport the gimbal.

Firmware Update

A new firmware update adds support for remote control using your Apple Watch. Users can view the camera feed, control gimbal direction, adjust composition, switch between portrait and landscape modes, and enable ActiveTrack remotely, all from their watch. ActiveTrack has been optimized for better detection in crowded spaces or at higher speeds. Pet tracking for both cats and dogs is also improved. The DJI Mimo app has been expanded to include an AI Editor with Parent-Child Mode to capture two subjects simultaneously. The video is then automatically edited and generated in the app once completed.

Add protection and accessories to your Sony FX3 or FX30 digital cinema camera with this lightweight and modular Camera Cage V2 from Tilta. This updated model offers the option of full cage protection or a lighter-weight half cage suitable for gimbal use by removing its side L-bracket. The black aluminum cage maintains access to the camera's controls and features a removable NATO top plate that enables the use of the original XLR top handle or another handle.

Use the cage to mount a variety of accessories using the top plate NATO rail, the shoe mount, and the 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads with anti-twist locating pins. The cage also features an integrated Arca-style base for quick mounting onto tripod heads and gimbal mounts. It can be used in both horizontal and vertical orientations and also features a right-side handgrip, an HDMI cable clamp, and strap slots for an optional wrist or neck strap.

Modular Design

The cage can be configured for both full cage protection and a lighter-weight half cage form for gimbal use. The top module is individually removable and is compatible with the original XLR audio handle. The L-Bracket is removable and can be used as a half cage.

Multiple Accessory Mounts

Accessory-mounting options include a NATO rail, a shoe mount, as well as 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins. The bottom of the camera cage features an Arca-type design for quick installation onto baseplates and gimbals.

Mounting Security

The camera body can be secured via three mounting screws on the left, right, and bottom. The included cable clamp prevents pulling or disconnecting, and it mounts with a thumbscrew.
